Goldstein Creations is the result of its teams’ passion. That’s why they are keen to showcase their creations at events and open houses. To allow as many people as possible to discover their fossilized wood creations, the company is organizing guided tours on the weekend of May 26-29, 2022! The premises will be open continuously from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., allowing you to stroll among the petrified wood tables, desks, onyx lamps, and fossilized wood paintings from Arizona.
The gallery brings together a wide variety of handcrafted works by Goldstein Creations. With over 250m² of exhibition space, you can wander among the pieces and take a journey back over 200 million years.
Visit the workshop and watch demonstrations of sawing and polishing fossilized wood
The manufacture of furniture and pictures requires precision, skill, and patience. Each step is carried out by hand in the Goldstein Creations workshop. Petrified wood is known to be particularly hard, even harder than granite. Sawing therefore requires many hours of work, up to 7 hours for 1m² of wood. This is done using a twisted cable and rigorous techniques. During the Open House, sawing demonstrations will take place so you can discover this incomparable craftsmanship.
Once sawn, the fossil wood needs to be polished to give it a shiny, smooth appearance. It is also this step that reveals and enhances the colors present in the wood. Performed by hand or by machine, depending on the case, polishing requires days of work to achieve a result that meets expectations. You will also have the opportunity to attend polishing demonstrations to discover and appreciate all the steps involved in creating fossilized wood pieces.
