Goldstein Creations was founded in 1993 by Philippe Goldstein. With a passion for both nature and minerals, Philippe was naturally drawn to these petrified trees.
During a long trip to the United States, he decided to bring back a piece of log and work with it.
Several years of development and research in his workshop were necessary to learn how to skillfully saw and polish petrified trees.
Over the years, Goldstein Creations has developed its skills and experience, acquiring international notoriety for the quality of its savoir-faire.
The takeover of Goldstein, Arizona petrified wood artisan art
In 2012, Philippe met Laurent Barat. He transmitted his expertise to him and mentored him for two years to teach him this unique métier.
Following this apprenticeship, Laurent Barat took over the management of the company in 2014. Philippe Goldstein’s savoir-faire, skills, and passion live on within the artisan company. Goldstein Creations is a member of the Alsace Chamber of Trades.
Composed of four people, it has adapted and improved its working techniques to meet the demands of many customers.
Laurent Barat has brought a touch of modernity by incorporating fossilized wood into interior design. To promote this artisanal art, a 2,690-square-foot gallery was opened in 2017 to offer customers a wide selection of products.
